Setting up the wireless security settings – Asus router setup wizard

  • Scroll down to the bottom of Security Level dropdown list.
  • Select the wireless security encryption method WPA-PSK for your router model being used.

Asus router setup wizard – setting up Aimesh wifi system

Setting up Aimesh Wifi system on Asus routers must have few requisites as explained:-

Connecting Asus router to create Aimesh:-

  • Two ASUS routers supporting AiMesh wifi, one of the Asus routers should be setup as Aimesh router and another one to be setup as Aimesh node.
  • The best Aimesh wifi system setup consists of 5 Asus routers with one router setup as AiMesh router as four others setup as AiMesh nodes – Asus router setup wizard.
  • The Asus router setup wizard requires positioning of the AiMesh router and Aimesh node within 1 to 3 metres distance between each other.

Connecting Asus router to hardware devices:-

  • Connect the Asus router to the power and turn it on.
  • Connect the Asus router being setup as Aimesh router to the modem at the WAN ports.
  • Ensure the LED lights indicating power, wifi network 2.4GHz and 5GHz light up revealing proper hardware connection.
  • Connect you Aimesh router as well to the computer using Ethernet cable adjoining at LAN port.

Firmware Upgrade on all Asus routers with Aimesh supported firmware:

  • Open a web browser page on your connected computer.
  • Visit router.asus.com in the address bar as Asus router login LAN address to enter web GUI.
  • If router.asus.com not working, Visit Asus router IP i.e. http://192.168.1.1 form the web browser.
  • The above Asus router login – 192.168.1.1 Asus router login or router.asus.com sets router login page on screen.
  • Use the Asus router default Asus router login details; password and username to access the router’s web GUI.
  • The default Asus router login username and password inputs are admin (in both fields).
  • The Web GUI (ASUSWRT) will open with router settings.
  • Access the Administration tab to select Firmware Upgrade option.
  • Download the latest firmware version file after checking available updates.
  • Uploadand install the downloaded firmware version on both AiMesh router and node.
  • Access the Network Map page to select AiMesh icon. 

Reset Asus Aimesh node by pressing and holding the reset button for few seconds.

Asus router setup wizard as AiMesh router

  • Open a web browser page on your connected computer.
  • Visit router.asus.com in the address bar as Asus router login LAN address to enter web GUI.
  • If router.asus.com not working, Visit Asus router IP i.e. http://192.168.1.1 form the web browser.
  • The above Asus router login – 192.168.1.1 Asus router login or router.asus.com sets router login page on screen.
  • Use the Asus router default Asus router login details; password and username to access the router’s web GUI.
  • The default Asus router login username and password inputs are admin (in both fields).
  • The Web GUI (ASUSWRT) will open with router settings.
  • Visit the Network Map 
  • Select the AiMesh icon and search for extending AiMesh node.
  • The quick setup wizard will search for the AiMesh node automatically.
  • As the AiMesh node appears on settings page, click to add it to asus router setup wizard as AiMesh system.

While Asus router setup wizard as Aimesh wifi system, you must place all the Aimesh routers in close proximity to synchronize them without any interference.

  • Congratulations screen will appear as soon as the routers are setup as Aimesh wifi system.
  • The AiMesh node will be then added to the AiMesh network.
Asus router login

Asus router login is used to configure the Asus wireless router for making changes to the router settings such as securing wireless network, changing Asus router login password and much more. It gives an access to the Asus router’s web GUI from where router network and settings can be managed. Asus router login is to the router is possible through Asus router IP or router.asus.com web login address filling in default Asus router login details – default username and password.

  • You must have an operating device such a computer or laptop connected to the Asus router’s network by Ethernet cable wire or using wireless network settings of the router.

Asus Router reset

Resetting the Asus router to factory default settings is required when you forget your Asus router login password to access web GUI. To reset the Asus router:-

  • Search for the reset button on the Asus router located on the back of the Asus router.
  • Using a sharp object, press and hold down the reset button for about 5-10 seconds.
  • Allow the status LED lights to stop flashing on your Asus router.
  • Release the reset button once LED lights other than power light stop flashing.
  • Your Asus routers will reboot and reset with default settings. Thereafter, you can login and configure your asus router using router.asus.com login with the Asus router login default settings.
Asus router firmware upgrade

The routers should be updated to improve their performance and networking whenever the new versions are available. Routerlogin.net will gain access to the router’s web GUI to initiate firmware update process. To initiate Asus router firmware update via router.asus.com login:-

  • Download the latest firmware version released from the Asus router website asus.com.
  • Enter your Asus router’s model no. and download the latest edition of firmware file for the

  • Save the downloaded firmware file safely on your desktop computer for further upload
  • while firmware updates process.
  • Log into the Asus router to enter your web GUI of the Asus router.
  • Open a web browser page on your connected operating device.
  • Visit router.asus.com in the address bar as Asus router login LAN address to enter web GUI.
  • If router.asus.com not working, Visit Asus router IP i.e. http://192.168.1.1 form the web browser.

  • Navigate to the ‘Administration’ tab.
  • Choose the ‘Firmware Upgrade’ option under administration tab.
  • Check for updates on Asus router’s web GUI for new firmware file upload.
  • Download and run the new firmware file on your computer.
  • Upload the firmware file.

The Asus router will reboot automatically after the new firmware version has been uploaded successfully.

Recommendation: You must not interrupt the firmware update process as it may disrupt router functioning and corrupt the firmware file.
